There are a total of 190 Labour women candidates at the 2010 election - 24 more than in 2005. The Labour Party filled 50% of seats where the MPs is retiring with new women candidates, which means that although there are also many women candidates in marginal seats, the number of Labour women MPs is unlikely to fall by much, and may well increase.
There were 94 Labour women in the House of Commons at the dissolution of Parliament on 12 April 2010, as opposed to 18 Conservatyive women and 9 Liberal Democrats.
