Active Women:

Making the Most of Being a Labour Party Member

This day-long course is aimed at women who are either new or newish Party members, or who have been members for some time but have only recently become active. It provides an introduction to:

  • How the Party works, how decisions are made, and what all the various parts of the Party are for. We don't dwell on this, but members who are not familiar with the structures, acronyms, etc often find a brief guide helpful.
  • Being proactive, getting together with other women, setting up/getting involved in Women's Forums, running policy discussion, etc.
  • How to become a school governor, magistrate, councillor or even an MP
  • Campaigning, elections and working with communities

An element of confidence-building runs through all our courses, and participants also get the opportunity to network with other women as well as develop new skills and understanding.

Active Women is FREE to LWN members. Non-members are required to join. Training materials and refreshments are provided.

All LWN trainers have themselves been trained to deliver our courses, and receive regular refresher training and assessment.
